Hello. We had lots of fun this year. We went to Old World Wisconsin. We also took care of the garden. It is now finished.  We had our school picnic last Friday, it was lots of fun. We even got a movie day on Monday with popcorn, candy, and pillows and stuffed animals. We finally got our year books this week. We cleaned up the class room on Thursday.  We are now ready to become 6th graders.

Friday, 5-18-18

This week we started our sketches of our Little House on the Prairie book.  These sketches will be made into six blankets and one pillow for Project Linus. The quilts from Project Linus are given to local EMT's.  They then go to children who may need emergency treatment.
Today we had our social studies test. We got our Old World Wisconsin permission slip, and we're looking forward to our trip there. We are moving our plants outside soon, and will plant the garden soon too.

  This week went by fast! On Monday, we took our Reading MAPS test. We started our Mothers' Day gift on Tuesday. We worked on them all through the week. Some of us worked on the garden after school on Tuesday. We pulled weeds and will plant vegetables very soon. We took our math quiz today and our MAPS math test on Wednesday. Fifth grade is almost finished with our Birch Bark House book.

This week was awesome!
 On Friday we had VIP Day! It was very fun to see all of our guests.  We played Jeopardy, showed off our Revolutionary War projects, and had a lot of fun! We also got our Little House On the Prairie books. The musical is coming up very soon and the actors are very excellent.

Friday April 13, 2018
This week we had an off day on Monday, but it still was a busy week. We kicked it off with a Jump Rope for Heart assembly. In Art we are starting a fun 3D fairy tale project in honor of the upcoming play, Shrek The Musical Jr. In S.S. we had a test about life right before the Revolutionary War. We are also doing a project on a Revolutionary War hero.  In Math we learned about the Metric System and and how to convert things like cm to mm. We are having a test on Tuesday in Math about diving decimals and the Metric System. 
We have our Forward Test for writing and ELA next week.  We practiced writing an essay, and we are doing so well on it. 

March 29, 2018

This week was awesome! It was short but we learned lots. In science, we learned about the skeletal system and the muscular system. In social studies we picked Revolutionary War heroes for our projects. The whole project is due April 23.In ELA we are reading a book called The Birchbark House. We also learned the linking verbs and helping verbs. Enjoy the Easter Break!                   Happy Easter!!!!

This week was super fun! We had the people from the boosterthon come in and talk to us every day this week about characteristics of being a hero. Focus, self awareness, respect, trust, worthiness, creativity, and life learner were all the virtues of being a hero. Today we had our fun run. Everyone in our class ran 35 laps or more! Pledging for funrun.com continues until next week Monday.
Today we picked the people for our Revolutionary War project! It is due April 23. We are really excited for it! We will have a math quiz next week. We were learning about helping verbs. We learned a very cool song about it. We had Forward testing this week. We were training like a BOSS and testing like a CHAMP

This week was excellent! In math we are learning how to divide decimals. In ELA we are reading a book called The Birchbark House. The book is very interesting! In  social studies we are learning about the wars that happened that lead up to The Revolutionary War. This week and next week the Boosterthon will be taking place! We will be raising money for Chromebooks next year. Today we had a dress down day in celebration of St. Patrick's Day! This week was great!!

We did many tests on Tuesday. There was a science constellation myth project that we presented to the class this week. Today we leaned past, present, and future tenses. We started The Birchbark House in ELA.  It is about a young Ojibwe girl names Omakayas and her family.
We had a pep rally for our 8th grade girls in the Padre.  Our class made them locker decorations to wish them well.  We are reading "The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane."  After we read each day, the class has a trivia question from the chapter to answer.  We draw for a winner each day and that student wins a Jolly Rancher.

This week we did a challenge to make a tower using only 20 noodles, 1 yard of tape, 1 yard of string, and a marshmallow on top. It helped us have conversation and a plan using teamwork.
We had a social studies test today, and we hope it went well.  Next week we have tests in science and math. This weekend is the last week of basketball games.

Hello 5th Grade Parents,
We are still learning about space in science class.  We just completed our solar system project.  This week on Wednesday we had a social studies test.  We did well on it.
We have our Open House this Sunday.  Please come and see what we are doing at school.
Next week is Catholic Schools' Week.  Monday is Western Day so dress like a cowboy or cowgirl and get ready to learn how to square dance.  We also have bowling on Thursday.  It will be a great week.

This week was quick, but we got a lot done! In science we started a lesson on space. We are starting a really cool project! We are drawing a model of the solar system on a giant poster. We are divided into groups of three. In math we had a test today! We all got finished and did a lot of hard work. In social Studies we are learning about the first New England colonists. We will be having a test on Wednesday, January 24!  In ELA we got new Words Their Way words. In art we are working on drawing illusions. In classroom art we finished a cardinal winter scene. You will be able to see them at Open House on January 28! This was a quick, but great week!!

Hello 5th grade parents this week we are starting to learn about space in science. We are learning how seasons and why they occur. We also have a science field trip coming up on February 6th to the planetarium at Hamilton High school . We are going to make an art project next week.

Catholic schools week is coming up.  We are looking forward to some great fun events!

Hello 5th grade parents. This week was very short.  In science we are starting our space unit.

 We were doing MAP testing practice on prepdog.org, and we begin our MAP testing on Monday.  We got new words for words their way.

We went to church to bless Elizabeth Ann Seton and celebrate her feast day on January 4th. 

And that is pretty much our whole week.
